Amanda Goldsmith: Craftsperson
Our Head of Operations, Amanda Goldsmith, is a craftswoman and artist in her own right. She is interested in the craft of all things printed including letterpress, linocut printing, photography, and bookbinding.
At the moment she is working on a self-published and self-produced book titled Someone Lost This: a light-hearted photographic documentation of the weird, wonderful, and even mundane objects that have made their way onto the pavement to be forgotten forever. Every object is photographed in situ, memorialising the item at a particular moment in time. The images were all taken with an iPhone, giving them the kind of aesthetic you might expect to see when scrolling through your phone’s camera roll: throw-away images taken on the go, much like the objects that were lost along someone’s way.
Producing this book fuses her love of bookbinding, graphic design, art, and photography. They will be for sale, so if you’re interested in receiving your own hand-bound copy of Someone Lost This, get in touch with Amanda below. Or just follow her on instagram to see what she gets up to next…
