Faces of the Community Revisited
Last summer, after commissioning six UK-based artists to paint portraits of some of Shoreditch’s residents, we were able to unveil our public exhibition Faces of the Community at Principal Place. The artwork has since been very well received, and – as spotted by our creative director last week – is now part of the Shoreditch street art tours.
Having just opened to the public in 2017, the new Brookfield development offered a thriving public space, which was to house an exciting programme of events and community driven activities throughout the year. We wanted to mark this new public space by offering an art experience that celebrated the diversely populated surrounding area, and express the unique vibrancy of Shoreditch as seen through the faces of its residents.
