Inlayed into the reception floor, ‘The Roundels of Shoreditch’ are a contemporary take on a historic commemorative tradition in which original trades and guilds were immortalised in cast iron.
Originally embedded into the cobblestoned streets of Shoreditch, 26 roundel plaques marked places of importance, celebrating the trades, events and people that once dominated the area. The new roundels celebrate a range of contemporary iconic Shoreditch “societies” including; Craft Beers, Coffee Houses, Street Art, Performing Arts, Record Shops, Tech Companies, Design Community and the local Speakeasies.
